The father of Pac-Man is leaving the world of video game design in much the same way he entered it. Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani announced this week that he has officially retired from his job at Japanese gaming giant Namco, his employer for the past 30 years, in order to work full-time as a professor of game design at Tokyo Polytechnic University.
