Marriott opens boutiques with style guru

At first glance they would appear strange bedfellows. On the one side, Ian Schrager, the ultra-stylish hotels and nightclubs guru still best known as the founder of the notorious Manhattan nightspot Studio 54. On the other, J W Marriott, boss of the cookie-cutter hotels chain whose inoffensive interior design is the same whether you are staying in Cancun or Kuala Lumpur.
