Village council not eager to approve proposed logo of Dexter, Michigan

A new logo for the Village of Dexter, Michigan received a lukewarm reception when it was unveiled to the Village Council this week.

After the logo got a thumbs up from the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the chairman of the village’s Downtown Development Authority, several council members were less than enthusiastic.

The logo includes a depiction of Gordon Hall, which is in Webster Township, the village’s downtown gazebo, (the village’s current logo), and a splash of water to represent the Mill Creek.

Written inside an oval are the words: ’Dexter … by the historic Old Mill Stream.’
